WABSE Commissions – 2007

WABSE is composed of five commissions.  Each commission is organized for the purpose of affording meaningful dialogue and participation of members in order to enhance the attainment of the goals of the organization.

Every two years, each commission prepares and presents statements of beliefs, goals, and plans of action that are consistent with the philosophy of the Alliance.  Each commission elects by majority vote a chairperson or co-chairs, a chairperson-elect, a secretary and other commission officers or representatives, as prescribed by the By-Laws.  Each commission officer serves terms that are concurrent with the terms of the officers of the Alliance.

Each WABSE member participates in the commission of his/her choice.  Members are encouraged to select the commission that parallels their job functions.  Selection of a commission is made upon establishing or renewing membership.  No member can hold membership in more than one commission at any one time.

The duties of the Commission Chair shall be to conduct the meetings and coordinate activities of the Commission and such other duties as identified by the Executive Board.  Commission Chairs serve as members of the Executive Board of WABSE, along with officers and local/regional affiliate presidents.
